Play equipment chosen for the size of the area and the age of the children is both safer and far better used.
Choosing play equipment starts not with the square metres of the area but with the safety zones. Every slide exit and every swing needs a clear area in front of it; place two modules close enough to share those zones and the area is not busy, it is dangerous.
Splitting by age group is a quiet but important decision. Younger children need low platforms, wide steps and closed guarding; older ones want climbing and speed. Putting both in one module lets the little ones reach a height they should not be at.
Materials are chosen for the Antalya sun. A galvanised and coated steel frame with UV-stabilised polyethylene slides and panels keeps surface temperature and fading in check. And the area is not finished until rubber surfacing or another shock absorbing floor is laid under the equipment and across its fall zone.
Frequently asked questions
The whole fall zone should be covered with a shock absorbing surface. Rubber surfacing is the usual answer, and its thickness is chosen for the free fall height of the equipment.
Beyond the footprint of the module itself there is a safety zone that has to stay clear around it. We set out the area on site and propose a layout that keeps those clearances.
